Peter is a registered and award winning landscape architect with over 16 year’s experience working in professional small scale studio practises and large multidisciplinary firms within Australia and overseas.

He has a real drive and passion for creating happy and healthy communities by integrating the restorative power of nature into everyday experiences. He also works passionately as a nature play consultant looking to increase the developmental and educational benefits offered by play based learning in a natural setting.

His approach to project design is bound by collaboration and communication. Successful project outcomes are born from ownership and participation in the creation and implementation of the vision to provide an authentic community legacy.

Our goal is to design playful and lifestyle connections with nature.

Urban and rural communities are losing everyday connections with the outside and it is proving detrimental to our health and wellbeing.

PSLA understands and practises design outcomes that begin to reconnect communities to enriched nature inspired environments that are accessible and meaningful.

The benefits of exposure and interaction in nature are plenty; including improved concentration and productivity identified in research focused on educational and business environments. Additional studies show improvements in social interaction and collaboration as well as improved physical, cognitive and emotional state. Exposure in nature is strongly proven as a pre-emptive measure to treat conditions such as ADHD, depression, anxiety as well as providing an overall sense of wellbeing. This connection to nature also instils an empathetic connection to the natural world and its systems.

Nature is also the perfect playspace for play based learning. It provides an open ended experience of adventure and exploration. Providing a diverse environment for honing our admired humanistic traits of collaboration, problem solving, language development, strength, dexterity, creativity, imagination and numeracy.
