JERVOIS STREET RESERVE - Completed JULY 2016
Jervois Street Reserve is a community park featuring nature play challenges with a narrative of the evolution of the butterfly. 2 years in planning allowed for a authentic community engagement process that valued children’s voice. Workshops were held that allowed children to design their own park through a choice of mediums. Through all stages of the design and in construction children were seen as active participants.
The park is designed to encourage multi generational interaction and support community development. The playspace is integral to supporting wider activation and a place for local families to gather and interact sociably. The play equipment and nature play elements are designed in accordance with the Nature Play Design principles.
